The VoiceMaster Writes a Book on Voice Care

What is your most important tool as a teacher? Is it your lesson plan? Your books? Your intelligence and positive mental attitude? When asked, teachers are likely to forget the very essential tool that they intensely use above everything else – the VOICE.
Teachers make up the largest population of “professional voice users,” or the people whose occupations rely heavily on the use of the voice. In addition, teachers have far greater vocal demands than others – speaking for up to 6 hours a day on a daily basis, to 40 to as much as 70 students, in an environment that is not always conducive to teaching. Despite the importance of voice in their vocation, however, teachers get very little to no training on how to USE and NURTURE it.

Voice artist, broadcaster and motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales brings to the teaching community his first book, “Voice Care for Teachers: Save your Voice, Save your Career”. It is filled with theoretical and practical information on how to care for the teacher’s voice, as well as how to use voice acting skills for the 21st century learners. The book includes exercises, techniques and tools that will make the reader examine their voice very closely, perhaps for the first time in their life.
Pocholo is also the founder of Voice Care Philippines, a non-profit organization that aims to equip all professional voice users with the knowledge, tools and techniques to save their voice and save their career. Pocholo believes that the voice is the most powerful and miraculous God-given gift, which is why it became his advocacy to teach people to protect and care for it, especially those who depend on it to accomplish their life’s work.
Voice Care for Teachers is also offered as a 2-day workshop to schools all over the country.
